Sea Angling

Reports

23 February 2008

Date: 23 February 2008
Mark: Mid-channel Wrecks
Boat: Channel Chieftain V (Weymouth)

10 of us made the long steam from Weymouth on a chilly February morning. About two hours later we arrived over the first wreck with most of us opting for Storm Shads on a 4ft flowing trace.

Fish came fairly steadily after the first hour, it took most of us this long to find our feet, but the fish were there and in reasonable numbers.

Some good Pollack were landed on a variety of artificial lures but the Shads performed best. Daz Keeping had the pick of the bunch with a 16lb pollack. Good day was had by all with some 30 or so pollack and a solitary ling in the fish boxes. Check out the pictures on the photo gallery page or click here
